It is with a deep sense of admiration and appreciation that I record my indebtedness to all the scholars going all the way back to Panini who himself mentions a number of his Indian predecessors in his Ashtadhyayi, the first and foremost work on the Science of Linguistics the knowledge contained within which gave birth to the Science of Indo-European Linguistics. Words fail me when I attempt to express my gratefulness to Jana K. Kumar, and to our children Shauna Lauree, Deena Shakila, and Ravi Vasanthraj kumar to whom this work is lovingly dedicated.
