From Brokenness to
Happiness
"...anyone who comes
to me, I will never drive away"(Jn 6:37)
A sudden thud and a strange
noise woke up my wife on 23rd June 1996. What she saw was my unconscious
self on the floor saying some meaningless words in a delirium. Hospitalisation
and tests followed. Even after I regained consciousness the words I uttered
were disconnected. An operation was necessary-immediately, for I had a
tumour in the brain. I decided to go for a retreat to Divine. During the
Holy Hour on Wednesday, Father announced that "Jose has been healed of
brain tumour". But then I told myself "There may be several Joses in a
crowd of 5000."'
The very next day after
the retreat I went back to the hospital and underwent the prescribed operation.
The doctors then discovered that the tumour was not malignant. Ordinarily
such operations leave some disastrous after-effect. But I escaped all such
mishaps. It was only the power of prayer that saved me, said the doctors.
Now I have resumed my work, given up all my evil habits, read the Bible
for a longer time and keep praising God. My household is pervaded with
the peace of Christ. Thank you Jesus! Praise you Jesus!
"Return, O Israel,
to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity" (Hos
14:1)
