The desert shall rejoice and blossom

Adopt a child-that is the only way out to bring up one-advised the doctors for my wife had a defective uterus and would never bear a child. It was eight years since we got married. We prayed hoping against hope attending retreats conducted by the late Fr Savio de Gama, Fr Salvador and Fr Conceisao. We were sure that one day God would hear our prayers. In April 1996 we went to Divine, accepted Jesus as our Saviour Lord, repented of our sins and experienced his healing touch. On the second day of the retreat it was announced that my wife was among the women with defective uterus who were being healed and I was one of those healed of urine trouble. In April 1997, God blessed us with the birth of a baby girl. "The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom;...and rejoice with joy and singing"(Is 35:1).

Nine years of married life remained fruitless for Tomy and me. Every possible treatment proved futile. In the end we went to Potta for a retreat. This brought about a lot of change in our life. We began praying together. The next year we went again for a retreat. Within one year Jesus answered our fervent prayers. After 10 dreary years we were blessed with a lovely daughter whom we call Maria in honour of our Blessed Mother. Praise you Jesus, Thank you Jesus. "Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"(Jn 16:23).
