deliver me according to your promise" (Ps 119:170 )

He Heard my Cry

I am a staff nurse working in a government hospital. Till the end of 1991 I was perfectly healthy . After that my health began deteriorating. In May ’92 an MRI scan revealed I had brain tumour. Before the operation I had gone to Potta Ashram for a retreat and had decided to pay tithe for the poor. I had come back extremely happy. Four days after the operation I lost my mental balance. I was convinced that my husband and children were dead. I kept jumping out of bed. Vomiting, loss of sight, absolute physical helplessness, plagued me. All thought I would die. The fathers at Potta Ashram and my relatives intensified their prayers. I realised God had permitted this sickness to draw me closer to him. I surrendered my illness into the hands of God and began praising and thanking him for it. I also prayed for strength to bear my pain. It was the retreat made before the operation that helped me pray thus.

A month later I was admitted in Amala Hospital, Trichur for radio therapy for 25 days. A week later, two brothers came and prayed for me for three hours. They told me to forgive all who had hurt me and to give the first place to God in my life. Until then it was my husband and children who had the first priority in my life. During the prayer I felt a cool breeze sweeping all over me. I, who could not take a step on my own, now began to walk slowly up and down the room thanking and praising God.

On the 25th day, while I was undergoing radiation, I saw in vision a golden arrow passing through my brain. Medication continued. An MRI scan after three years revealed that the tumour had spread even to the lungs. Biopsy proved they were cancer cells. But the Lord intervened. After surgery another biopsy gave the result that they were only tuberculosis cells.

In 1998 a brain scan was done. Everything was normal said the result. Jesus healed me of so many fatal illnesses. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, praise and thanks to you forever!
