The Salvific Experience
"With weeping
they shall come,
and with consolations
I will lead them back" (Jer 31:9)
On December 8, 1997 I arrived
at the Divine Centre in Muringoor to attend a retreat programmme. I went
with no expectations in mind but just to experience this retreat that my
close friend had attended for a week. She had told many of us of the wonderful
experience she was blessed with .
Before this, I was suffering
from emotional depression for a good 2 1/2 years. My divorce had made me
feel dejected, lonely and bored with life. I did not know what to expect
out of this retreat except that I wished for peace of mind.
My first impression of the
Centre was that it is a very simple place - advocating a simple life style
back to basics. The place was clean and that was important to me.
During my retreat, I experienced
tremendous release of emotions that had caused so such pain within me and
clouded my thoughts. Now I can think clearly and understand a lot of things.
I can feel that God is with me. I do not feel lonely anymore.I feel happy
and at peace with myself.
In the past, I was not able
to kneel for long whenever I was at prayer. Somehow, God healed my knees
and now I can kneel with no difficulty.
Today I am happy that I
have had this opportunity to experience this great love of God and pray
that everyone will have a chance to feel the touch of God during this retreat.
I also understand the message from the Lord. Praise the Lord! Alleluah!
