  Severe backache forced me to be hospitalised. The doctors diagnosed it as due to a lump on the uterus and ordered immediate surgery. The date was fixed and I kept waiting for the day to be rid of the pain that had incapacitated me for years. In the meanwhile a relative persuaded me to attend a retreat. "You did not choose me but I chose you. I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name"(Jn 15:16).
 
I got myself discharged without the doctor's permission and went to Divine for the retreat in April 1998. On the third day, during the Holy Hour, Fr Panackal announced, "Jesus is healing Elyamma." All the mental anguish and grief I had had hitherto left me. At that moment I began to see in a vision the different emotions reflected on Jesus' face. The next retreat I made was under Bro Thomas Paul. During the Mass on the third day I was praying with arms outstretched when I had the experience of being washed in the blood of Jesus and becoming a new creation. The next day I felt the palms of my hands burning like hot coal. A twenty-year-old ailment was healed in a trice! Thank you Jesus! Praise you Jesus!
