Washed in the Blood
of the Lamb
My name is Santosh Lewis.
I am 23 years old. I had reached a point in my life where I had everything
a person of my age would hope for-a loving and united family, education,
friends, a great career and material pleasure with all the comforts and
luxuries this world has to offer; but deep inside I was confused and frustrated.
I often used to wonder: Is this all there is to life? My life had no meaning
whatsoever, I was deep in sin and did not know what to do; as to who could
save me from my guilt and helplessness. Then it was that I met Jesus our
Lord as my personal Saviour. He changed everything and made me a brand
new person and gave me a new life full of hope and love.
I had heard about DRC from
many people and the miracles taking place there and the renewal of many
people's lives. I was to go to Goa for a holiday with my friends. That
morning I had a strange feeling in my heart that I should go to DRC instead.
It was like some one inviting me. I reflected and by evening I got some
courage and with my mother's support I decided to go to DRC. That was how
I made my first retreat in April 1997. The experience was great; it was
the best seven days of my whoie life which I will never be able to express
in words.
Though I was born into a
Catholic family, this was the first time I had such a powerful experience
of Jesus, who is full of mercy, love and compassion. Jesus set me free
from my compulsive habits; he took away all my sin and guilt; he cleansed
me from sin and filled me with love, peace, and happiness. Jesus gave me
the courage to face all my fears and difficulties. I was the carrier of
the jaundice virus for the past few years. During the retreat Fr Mathew
Naickomparambil announced that Jesus was purifying somebody’s blood. I
felt a cool sensation throughout my body, but at that time I did not know
it was me that was being healed. I only found out after a few months when
I went for a blood test. Praise you Jesus I thank you Jesus.
I was able to surrender
all my sins to Jesus and was given the grace to give them up after a good
confession.
Today I am in Dubai working
with one of the biggest multinational companies in the world. This is another
of the many miracles which Jesus has worked in my life. When I saw the
advertisement in the paper it said that the company required people of
minimum 8-10 years experience. I had only 2 years of experience. As the
Bible says, "nothing is impossible for God." I believed that. I got the
job, and at my interview my boss who is from the US was surprised to know
that there are Catholics in India. I was happy to tell him about the Catholic
Church in India. Praise the Lord!
I appeal to all you who
read my testimony to accept and believe Jesus. He will change everything
and give you a brand new life filled with his love and peace. Jesus is
the only way that leads to a life worth living. Praise you Jesus ! Thank
you Jesus for giving us the kingdom, which is nothing but your true unconditional
love!
