How Great Thou Art!
"My heart is steadfast,
O God, my heart is
steadfast.
I will sing and make
melody" (Ps 57:7)
Suddenly in the early hours
of the morning on 9th November ‘96, my grandson Dylan Fernandez becames
restless and then began getting convulsions. Fortunately by God's grace
it was noticed by his grandfather who caused an alarm and the child was
rushed to hospital by ambulance, with oxygen and all medical assistance.
After he was examined, we were informed that it was cerebral convulsions
and we had to be very careful. Ten months later, that is, on 8th September
‘97, Dylan got fever again and worked into convulsions at a temperature
of 38.2. Again he was admitted for a couple of days and we were informed
that even at 37.5 medication should be administered, the normal temperature
being 37. In October ‘98 Fr Mathew Naickomparambil, Fr Augustine Mundackatt
and Sr Teresa visited Australia and were in Sydney on 30th and 31st October
and 1st November. On the last day of the healing service, Dylan and his
sister were prayed over by Fr Mathew Naickomparambil to whom the situation
was explained.
On 4th March ‘99 Dylan got
fever at midnight and the temperature registered 38.2. Immediately medication
and cold sponges were given continuously but the temperature never dropped.
The next day he was taken to the doctor who said the temperature would
be controlled within 2-3 days but the temperature only dropped to 37.9
and then shot up to 39.9 for 4-5 days. He was admitted in the hospital.
The temperature of 39.9 kept steadily for 2-3 days and gradually dropped
with antibiotics. We were very surprised that the child did not get convulsions
at all inspite of so many days of high fever and realised that he was healed.
Thank you Jesus for your love and mercy and thank you for that great promise
" I will never leave or forsake you." Dylan will be 4 years in May.
