The first child my wife conceived suffered intra-uterine death at an advanced stage of pregnancy due to an electric shock one year after our marriage. After that, inspite of treatment by reputed doctors, she could not conceive and at one point of time, a famous gynaecologist advises that a laproscopy had to be done. Because of our immense faith in Our Lord, we felt that it was not necessary. We attended a retreat at Madras conducted by Fr Mathew Naickomparambil in Dec '94. I used to hate and criticise those who preach and pray aloud saying "Alleluia". I was of the opinion that our God answers our prayers only when done in silence and no person can work any miracle in the name of God. But in the first half an hour itself, I started praying aloud with others, raising my hands without any reservation and tears started rolling down my eyes without any control. I felt the power of Our Lord soften even a hard heart like mine. Alleluia! We surrendered ourselves and our sins before the Lord our God. During the prayer Fr Mathew Naickomparambil pointing towards our side, said that a couple was blessed with a child by Jesus. To our amazement our doctor confirmed the statement the very next month and my wife delivered a sweet little boy on 25th September '95. Praise the Lord! We ask the Lord to pardon us for this delayed witness. My wife has conceived again with the mercy of Our Lord.
