RESENTMENT RESOLVED

"What kind of harrassment will I get today?" was my daily thought before I reported for duty. However well I prayed and braced myself to meet the situation, it was an ordeal to put up with the illtreatment of my senior officer. It began telling on my health - of mind and body. At long last I decided to go on leave, return to Kerala and attened a retreat at Divine.

When all was set for my departure, the same senior officer objected, refsed to sanction my leave. I had to appeal to higher authorities. Perhaps it was the prayers of my wife and children - the leave was sanctioned, eventually. My officer and I were at loggerheads once again and I kept wondering what the situation would be on my return after the leave.

During the retreat, I was advised to pray for him, praising God for all the unpleasantness. I continued to do so faithfully and, later, at the Daily Prayer at Potta, praised God with all my heart. Strange to say, on my return to duty I found my officer's attitude had changed completely. Not only does he not trouble me or my colleagues, but he also lends a helping hand whenever he can. And now I praise God for the goodness of my senior officer.
