The Lord's Bounty
"Blessed be God
who lives forever,
because his kingdom
lasts throughout all ages.
For he afflicts,
and he shows mercy"(Tob 13:1-2).
Here I give the account
of how God’s mercy became a channel of blessings for my family.
It was for the retreat begining
on August 26th 1995, that I went to Muringoor. I went there to pray for
a job for my elder son, a marriage alliance for my daughter and success
in his examination for my younger son. But I had been afflicted for sixteen
years with severe diabetes and for nineteen years with psoriasis on both
my legs. Every kind of treatment was of no avail and doctors had given
up hope of a cure particularly because I was diabetic. But during the retreat,
I did not pray for healing for myself but only for others.
On all the days of the retreat,
not only was my illness the same, but it also became worse. On September
5th 1995 the disease again took a bad turn. Everyone at home was deeply
distressed. But I felt no grief whatsoever. "Why are you cast down,
O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me ? Hope in God; for I shall
again praise him, my help and my God" (Ps 43 : 5) May God’s name be
praised! A great wonder ! On September 6th 1995, when I woke up in the
morning, this disease of psoriasis which doctors had pronounced as incurable,
was completely healed as if wiped away fully. Thank you Jesus, praise you
Jesus ! Not even a scar was left on my leg. So total was the healing my
God gave me. These words of the Bible were so true : "For neither herb
nor poultice cured them, but it was your word, O Lord, that heals all people"
(Wis 16:12). May the name of the Most High be glorified Though my diabetes
was not fully healed, I was much better. I do not have to take insulin
injections as feared and the medicine dose prescribed has been halved.
My elder son has been able to start a business; the younger one got a splendid
pass and an excellent partner has been kept ready for my daughter by my
heavenly Father.
Thank you Jesus !
Glory to his name
!
