My son would attend the Sunday Mass with me and join me in the daily rosary. If I started a novena to Infant Jesus or to Our Lady he would sit next to me and join in. In this way he learnt all the prayers. Every year I would take him to Velankanni to visit the shrine and my husband went with us on two occasions. I wanted my son to be baptised and receive communion as well.

Nothing happened. Ten years passed. Twelve years passed. Then one day when he was 17 years and 6 months, he told me he wanted to visit the parish priest and talk to him. He told the priest that he wanted to be baptised. Father spoke to him and all was arranged. It was easy as my son knew his prayers. He was asked to read the Bible and go back to the priest every day. Many people kept praying for him. My son was baptised and made his First Communion and recieved Confirmation on the same day in July 1999. His name is now Tonmoye Luke Nandi. It took 17 years and 6 months for my prayers to be heard. It was a long wait. There might be a delay but never a denial from the Lord. He said, "Ask , and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door while be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened" (Mt 7:7-8). Have faith in the Lord. He will grant you your request.
