STRIVE FIRST
FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Blessings followed in abundance, once my daughter, Perpetual, put Jesus first in her life. She was studying for the SSLC which was scheduled for March '97. But instead of studying seriously she was always complaining of some sort of illness or the other and she would go to bed around 8 pm and wake up around 7 am.

Right from her Ist std she was only average in her studies and with great difficulty was managing to get through in the final exams securing minimum marks for passing.

Under these circumstances she requested me to send her to Divine Retreat Centre to attend the City Evangelization Retreat from December 29th '96 to Jan 3rd '97.

After returning from the retreat we could final a lot of change in her day to day life. She started studying very seriously and was sitting up late at night. She began taking part in family prayers and also was regular about her personal prayer in the morning.

After her exams we thought she might fail, or through some miracle, manage to secure minimum passing marks. Every one at home told her not to get disappointed if she failed but to make a second attempt. When the results were declared we could not believe she had passed fist class in the SSLC. Praise you Lord Jesus! She had never secured even a second class before.

On the very day the results were announced, she went to Divine Retreat Centre to attend City Evangelization retreat again in May '97 to thank Jesus for blessing her abundantly. We now know what Jesus meant when he said, "Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well"(Mt 6:33). Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus!
