I hail from Angamaly where I am the proprietor of Anugraha Garments. For nearly 20 years I was a slave to alcoholism, drugs and several evil habits. Morally, mentally and physically I was a complete wreck. Forgetting my responsibility to my mother, wife and three children, I left for Delhi and spent 15 years there working as a political activist. One day while returning after a discussion on workers’ salary, about 15 men of the opposite party suddenly attacked me and left me on the road half dead. The police and some people of goodwill took me to the hospital. I was there for a month. After that, I underwent ayurvedic treatment at a famous hospital. With the help of an acquaintance, I also went to Potta on Holy Saturday in 1989. I, who was deeply addicted to liquor and drugs, could not grasp the word of God at all. But in the afternoon, a song, a testimony and the word of God preached there, pierced the very marrow of my bone. Later I realised God’s plan for me was being revealed then. After the prayer I went to Fr Panackal. All that father said was about my past life. As Jesus entered the life of the Samaritan woman 2000 years ago, Father revealed to me my misdoings. I became convinced that God was pouring out his love, a love greater than that of a mother for her child and that he had a plan for me. According to father’s message I made a good confession and forgave all who had hurt me. From that moment onwards Jesus began showering his gifts on my family too. When I began praying with them, and exchanged the peace of Christ, there was so much of love, peace and joy. With every Mass that I attended in the morning, the evil effects of my sins on my body began to disappear unawares. I was keenly aware that I would lose God’s grace if I did not keep this spirit alive. Blessings began to flow like a river. I made every effort to grow through all the chances God gave me. For the past ten years I have been proclaiming the word of God at home and abroad. Praise you Jesus! Thank you Jesus!
