Duodenal ulcer had tormented me from 1954 onwards. Every six months I had to be hospitalized. In 1974, an appendicitis operation resulted in a perforation of the intestines. This was the worst part of my life. Three consecutive operations had to be performed to drain the entire food canal and digestive system. My intestines, badly injured by ulcer, gave incessant pricking pain and I began losing my temper over silly matters. In 1994, bleeding through the big intestines began again, my pulse dropped and I was advised another major operation. I refused to undergo anymore this trial- and- error method of surgery. On getting repeated attacks of bleeding, I went to DRC in June 1995. There I abandoned the restricted diet schedule, ate the common food and started my prayer programme at 4.30 AM and attended the retreat with full faith. Back home, with stubborn faith and sincerity, I read the Bible daily, prayed and at tended Mass often. I am completely cured. No irritation, pain or vomiting. I'm writing this after 2 years of very good health and normal diet.
