Raise Your Hands and Praise the Lord

"Raise your hands in prayer in the temple and praise the Lord" (Ps 134:2)

I got an opportunity to attend the retreat conducted by Fr Mathew Elavungal in Potta during our vacation in India. It increased the presence of God in my life. I had developed continuous sneezing every morning for more than one year after I came to the United States. Besides I could not drink milk due to lactose intolerance. This was associated with bloating and foul-smelling gas due to the absence of lactose enzyme produced by the small intestine. This was really annoying to me. During the retreat conducted by Fr Mathew Naickomparambil, Fr Jose and Sr Teresa in the year 1995, in Washington, DC, which the whole family attended, I believed the Lord would touch me. I told my son, Sunny, to pray during the hour of praise to be healed of his uncomfortable sneezing. My son's sneezing was much relieved. He has not had any asthma attack so far. My lactose intolerance also is much better. We began to understand God's blessings to me and my son. Time went by and I developed the lactose intolerance again.

The next year Fr Mathew, Fr Jose and Sr Teresa came again to Washington. The whole family decided to take part in the three- day retreat and experience the power of the word of God. During the prayer service, Fr Jose stressed the importance of forgiving those who had hurt us. An inner voice seemed to tell me, "You did not forgive those who hurt you". It was a fact. I received the grace to forgive others. My lactose intolerance was completely cured. I am truly convinced of God's almighty power to heal those who call upon his name. My prayer today is for God's blessing upon the whole world. Thank you Jesus and praise you Jesus!
