The Lord Did Great
Things for Us
"Seek the LORD and his
strength; seek his presence continually" (Ps. 105:4)
On 20th December 1997 my
mother, Ms Rita D souza, 78 years old, was assisting me in the kitchen.
At about 11.30 am, she suddenly felt giddy and started shivering. I immediately
took her in my arms and uttered 'Jesus, Jesus' and let her slowly fall
on the floor and immediately sent my daughter to call our family doctor.
Unfortunately the doctor was not available - was out of Mumbai. Again my
daughter rushed to an ayurvedic doctor who is just a building away from
our house, and he came immediately. The doctor examined my mother and observed
that her body was turning cold and she was unable to talk. I took her to
the hospital and got her admitted. The doctor took her ECG and X-rays revealed
a patch on the side which could not be diagnosed at once. She was under
treatment in the hospital. On 23rd December in the evening she was discharged
from the hospital on request as she wanted to be at home for Christmas.
She was advised complete rest and had to take tablets for ten days. Thereafter,
another X-ray was taken. The 2nd X-ray also showed the same patch with
no improvement. A C.T. scan was advised. All the doctors who were treating
her said that the patch could either be a pneumonia or cancer patch. We
all prayed to Jesus and requested Gethsemane for prayers. We also said
special prayers during our daily family rosary. On 8th January 1998 we
took my mother for a CT scan. God worked a miracle. The doctor called my
husband in and told him that there was no patch or any problem. He said
this was a rare case. She only had to continue with the B P tablets. Thank
you Jesus! Praise you Jesus!
