From the Land of Mao to the Feet of Jesus

"Who can utter the mighty doings of the Lord, or declare all his praise" Ps 106:2)

Michael Shieu and wife Felicita were born in China. During the Indo-China war, their parents had migrated to India. Michael has some leather business in Calcutta. For quite some years they had not known Jesus. When Felicita got a chance to go to Church and listen to the word of God, Jesus touched her. Her prayer and persuasion led Michael to faith in Jesus.

One day, pointing to a picture, Michael's bed-ridden father asked him: "Who is that man?" "That is Jesus Christ," answered Michael. He told his father all he knew about Felicita's spiritual experiences. The old man lying on his death-bed said, "Last night this man spoke to me. Come with me", he said. A few days later Michael's father died. That was Michael's first experience of Jesus. On the 24th of last September, Fr Mathew Naickomparambil and Fr Agustine Mundackatt were conducting a Bible convention at the Auxilium Parish Church in Calcutta. When it was announced that a man suffering severe pain in his right leg was being healed, Michael quickly came forward with his wife. Before the big gathering he testified that he had been unable to raise his leg or climb steps for a long time because of acute pain. During the prayer, he felt someone pulling his leg violently and a kind of power flowing through his body. All his pain was gone. He continued , "I experienced a great anointing with the joy of the Spirit during the Holy Mass and the healing session. A headache that had plagued me for years also left me. Praise you, Jesus! Thank you, Jesus!
