Behold! I Make All
things New
On 2nd February, 1997 I
met with a serious road accident. My condition was very critical as my
wife related later. The doctor said I would not live long. I would die
in the next few hours. I did not know anything, as I was unconscious, in
a coma for a very long time. But my wife and my family had strong faith
in the Almighty, though they said at times that they were in doubt and
were tempted to lose faith. But they prayed to Mother Mary and the Archangels
to intercede for me. I was in the I.C.U. just like a dead body kept alive
on artificial respiration. When the doctors were questioned about my condition,
they had only one answer i.e., "It is too early to say anything; if at
all he survives, he will only be like a vegetable." In this hour of turmoil,
fax messages kept flowing to the Divine Retreat Centre requesting the intercessory
prayer group and the retreatants to pray for me. Many other prayer groups,
too, kept me in their prayers. In the midst of all this Jesus our Saviour
was mighty. My family decided to call a priest and anoint me. This anointing
had a healing effect. Praise the Lord! While the priest was anointing me,
my wife noticed that I slightly moved my leg. This good sign was taken
as new hope. As days passed, doctors tried doing some excercises to see
if I could do them on my own. I revived a little and after a few days I
was brought out of the I.C.U. but still with no chances of survival. Here
the mighty plan of God started working on me. Though I was struggling between
life and death, my family started praying with greater faith and surrendered
me along with themselves into the hands of the Almighty and the mighty
miracle started occurring. I started regaining consciousness slowly. Praise
the Lord! Thank you Jesus! After I regained consciousness fully I was taken
to my doctors for regular check up. They were so happy to see me stand
and admitted, "Cyril, we have done nothing to save your life. No medicine
used could heal you. But it is the mighty God who has healed you." Praise
the Lord! Though I have to recover a little more, I surrender my whole
being into the hands of my God, the Saviour of mankind. I have to overcome
stiffness on the right side of my body and regain loss of eyesight in my
right eye. I have strong faith that God will heal me completely. I only
pray saying, "Jesus, let your will be done" and ask the Lord to deliver
us from all evil bondage. Jesus has washed me with his precious blood and
given me new life.
