Forty years chain-smoking abandoned   "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Cor 12:9)  
I am 67 years of age. I have been a chain-smoker for 40 years. 2 to 3 packets of cigarettes were my quota for the day. Sometimes, during those 40 years I got very sick and the doctors advised me to quit smoking. I managed to do so but did not persevere until March 1997 when I decided to attend a retreat at the Divine Retreat Centre.
 
Before going to the Divine Centre I had made a decision to quit smoking. During the retreat I sincerely asked the Lord to deliver me totally from this evil habit. And the merciful God touched me. He gave me the grace to stand by the decision I took before going to the Divine centre. Miraculously, I did not suffer from any of those withdrawal symptoms.
 
Today, I am totally delivered from this bondage of smoking. Even if I happen to be in the company of smokers I do not feel the urge to smoke.
  "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13)   Thank you Jesus! Praise you Jesus!
