Saved from the Jaws of Death

At 6 am on April 4, 1972, I came to the verandah of my house. Next to the verandah there was a shed constructed with the support of bamboo poles and tiles and just below where I was standing there was also a lathe machine. On that terrible morning just a little after 6 o'clock, suddenly the thin verandah floor caved in and I went down standing on top of the broken piece of the parapet (8'x4' high). I heard the screaming of my tenants but I was too dazed to realize what was happening to me. Meanwhile, I just noticed that the iron rods of the broken verandah wall where I stood while falling down, tearing away the other broken piece. Just at that moment I had an intuition in my sub-consciousness to pray to God to deliver me from the danger about to befall me. God did hear my prayer and the broken piece of the said wall fell on the handle of the lathe machine and broke into two pieces. While the bigger portion fell outside my person, the smaller portion fell on my right foot making a deep gash on the veins. The broken parts of the verandah 30 ft long came to pieces just after crossing the lathe machine and I fell down to the ground standing on my feet. Neither the bamboo poles nor the broken tiles had touched my person but one of the tiles just grazed my left eye.

I was totally shocked and dazed. People on the ground heard the terrible crashing sound and it was only after one of them had put his arm around me that I regained my consciousness. My friend took me to the nearby hospital for treatment. I would have died of the terrible shock while lying down in the emergency room as the intensity of the earth quake was very high.

Two years after the fall, while walking to the office from the station suddenly the bones on my right foot seemed to break into pieces and I halted as I just couldn't walk. It had been painful since 1975 and I had to request my young daughter to sometimes stand on my feet for relief.

In September 1997 I attended a Bible convention. On the very first day I suddenly felt the terrible athritic pain on my two feet. I thought of returning home if the pain persisted. Thanks be to Jesus' great and merciful love, a few minutes later, Fr Mathew Nackomparambil, made the announcement asking the person who had obtained the cure of both the legs to stand up and to come up to the rostrum. So I went forward to tell the audience briefly of what happened to me. I had been healed.

I am a widower having a son and a daughter who is mentally retarded. She creates a lot of problems especially because of her violent temper which leads me to react sternly.

I shall be thankful and grateful to Jesus if he will cure my daughter of this malady which has been tormenting her for about seventeen years.
