"Mother, I Forgive you"

"Honour your mother and do not abandon her
all the days of her life...Remember her, my son,
because she faced many dangers for you while
you were in her womb"(Tob 4:3-4)

I had come to make my retreat along with my wife from Mumbai to Divine Retreat Centre on 29 December '96 and I went back very much satisfied, relieved from all tension and worry. Praise the Lord, it was a very good experience for us to be with the Lord, and hear his word.

On the day of inner healing when we were exhorted to forgive all who have hurt us, especially when the word Mother was mentioned, the Lord asked me to forgive my mother for what she had done to me. When we were asked to close our eyes and imagine seeing our mother I suddenly saw her with a very sorrowful and sad face looking at me. It was at this time that tears came to my eyes and I wept not realizing that I had not forgiven her though she died in the year 1993. I asked Our Lord Jesus to forgive my mother for all she had done to me. Then I saw a spark just like a meteor or cracker burst in the sky and I saw Our Lord Jesus standing with a grey cloak and long hair. It was a profile. His face was not visible. I saw my mother kneeling before Jesus. Our Lord laid his hands on her head and forgave her. She stood up and walked away happily with a smile. Then I saw the spark again in the sky. It was at that time that I felt something inside me. A completely different feeling as if some weight were removed from my chest. A cool chilly wind was blowing within me at this time.

It was only after I read a testimony of Sister Merlin Alexander of Bangalore in the January issue of Vahanolsavam, that I realized that I had an obligation to make known what our Lord did for me.

"My lips will pour forth praise, because you teach me your statutes. My tongue will sing of your promise for all your commandments are right.Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts"
(Ps 119:171-173).
